International Left-Handed Day
August 13th is the international day of left-handed people, and we would like to invite you to a little challenge, write your name using your left hand and take a picture then share it with us in the comments. (If you are a lefty, use your right hand).
Fascinating Surgery: Synthetic Transplant:
In 2011, Swedish surgeons performed the first synthetic organ transplant using an artificial windpipe. Italian professor Paolo Macchiarini led the groundbreaking operation that was performed at Karolinka University Hospital.
The artificial windpipe was used for a 36 year old cancer patient. the windpipe was made from glass then team soaked in a solution of stem cells taken from the patient’s bone marrow. in a 12 hours operation professor Macchiarini and his team managed to remove the original cancer ravaged windpipe and successfully replace it with the new hand-made one!
Cosmetic surgeries have been around since the 16th century; they started as a means to fix disfigurements and developed into the multi billion dollars industry that we know today.
Some people think plastic surgeries have gone too far, others consider it a matter of personal choice. What do you think? Would you ever consider a plastic surgery? What for?
